Presently, education system seems not to ecourage individuality and thinking outside the box. Teachers are the most important link in the delivery of education to students. For Cambodia’s education system, it’s hard to build effective and effecient education because of salary level, the size of class, and teaching hours. BTW, national education budget is limited.
All factors are effecting badly on the quality of education in all levels.
So that, student’s quality of education is going down. Teachers’ bad habit is effecting the whole society such as:
- Teachers who neither love their subject are proficient in it have no other option than to teach “from the book” and do not suplement their lessons with other sources of information.
- When there are each examination tests, teachers always lifted out of reference books and no oringinal questions to be generated.
- Techers sell cake and cany in the classroom, and force school students to buy theirs.
- Teachers force students to pay to them every day at least 300 riels.
- Teachers force students to buy their lessons, if they do not buy lessons, teachers will give low scors of testing.
The issues are raised above, happening in general in schools.
