On January 18, 2006, CTN (The Cambodian Television Network) news reader were seriously injured in an acid attack by 2 unknown men in Phnom Penh. Tith Polen, 36, has been well known on CTN new program. He was hospitalizing Calmette Hospital after sustaing serious acid attack, second-degree burn, on his forehead, neck, chest, elbows and knees. The victime got married at the end of 2005 to Cambodian-australian women living in Australia. According to phycician of Calmette hospital on condition of anonymity, he sustained serious burn. His family sent him to hospital in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday. Suspects are still not indentified yet. Som Chhaya, CTN news produceer, said that the motivation behind the attack was uncertain. According to his colleagues, the acid attack is the personal problem, not political issue. We know that most acid hit is happing beause of jealousy, lover story, mistress…etc.
