So far, we can’t seem to make up our minds whether money is good or bad. When someone is described as successful, it usually means he or she is wealthy. So it must be good, but they say money can’t buy happiness. So it must be bad. Haven’t we heard that money is the root of evil? There are two points to be made about money:
Money is not bad: The Bible says, the love of money is the root of all evil, but that is quite a difference. There’s nothing wrong with money, there’s nothing wrong with wanting it, there’s nothing wrong with having it. The important keys are how we earn it and what we do with it.
Money isn’t all there is to being successful: Do you think that money earning is successful? Why weren’t they happy with money, property, power and status? It is because of having those they is not the same as being successful. They have lost sight of what was essential. They got addicted, becoming slaves to big money and the things that go with it. In the process, they damaged their own lives as well as the lives of others. To overemphasize its important is to cheat ourselves out of other things that wake life so much more interesting, meaningful and rewarding.
