More than 3 years, I have worked with Community Information Cambodia Webportal (CIC webportal) created in Khmer language, which is the project under supervision of Open Forum of Cambodia. I strarted working here since January 15, 2003, my position was a Content collector, collecting all information from different local and international organisations and government institutions in Cambodia. I am every pleased to work with all my team. At the begining of the project, there were 8 members.
At the mid of 2004, I had promotion as project coordinator. At the starting of the project, we had diffeculty in collecting information and materials from those institutions because they did not understand well about our objectives, in order to make them to understand and cooperate to provide materials for disseminating on our website. We all always took laptop in order to demonstrate them about Website’s features and objectives. So far, it is not so differcult for us to collect documents and materials like before, because most institutions produce materials, they always send those in hardcopy and softcopy directly to us in order to disseminate to Cambodians throughout the country. So far, our project is under support from many people living in and out of country.
At the mean time, achievements take place by my team’s efforts. My team members are Vansinin and Sophonrith, content collector, Sereisophonn and Khemra, typist and Webmaster, Virak. By the way, other ex-members, Sohay and Tharum quitted my project and were promoted as Khmer Rouge Trial project Coordinator and Youth and Development project Coordinator respectively.
Unfortunately, my project has no funding for supporting. So I will quit from my work at the end of this month. Eventhough, I really like to work with journal. and I am still happy working with dissemination of useful information and news to Cambodian people throughout the country. If I have an opportunity, I will come back to work with this project again.
