My Parents’ house and peper field
I went to visit my parents living in Kdul village, Memot district in Kampong Cham Provice, from 13 to 17 April during Khmer New Year.
This is my parents’ wooden house built in 1997. Before building this house completly, my parents tried their effort to buy part of hourse a little by little since at the end of year 1990. That is what they have needed is the big hourse in their mind. Now,a big hourse was built but a few person staying in because most of my sibling is living in Phnom Penh. Only my parents or my youngest sister are staying there. I always visit them 2 or 3 times a year, but never stay long.
This is the peper field of my parents. More than 5 years, they planted them. Before they growed coffee trees, because coffee bean price was every cheap. So that they changed their mind to plant peper vein instead. This is the period of product collecting. My parents always employ 3 to 6 laborers a day. Each of them get wage only 45,000 riel per day. Those are people living in the village. They always earn in living.
