Cambodians people consider 20 May as “Day of Anger” for victims and victioms’ family during the Pol Pot-ruled regime in 1975-79. Every year, Cambodians always mark this day in order to remember Khmer Rouge time and souls of the dead by execution, overwork, starvation and so on.
However, I was born in Pol Pot regime but I did not know anything because I was around 2 and 3 years. So that I did not remember anything but my parents recalled me about my life in the black shirt regime. I was young and I just only asked my parents for food when I was hungry and I cried. My gradgrandmother died in Khmer rouge regime in village hospital. While, Khmer Rouge troups forced my family and relatives to displace other village. At that time, my gradgrandmother was very sick, she could not walk. So that my family made dicision to abandon her at hopital. I am very regretful for the brutal era led by Pol Pot.
Until now, I and other Cambodians are waiting for whether the Khmer Rouge Tribunal will find justice for their victims and victims’ families or not.
