Nearly 1 year, I have never heard from one of my best friends, Lay Sambo, living abroad. Even in the country, I rarely met them. Today is the lucky day that I talked with him online living in Australia. Right now, he was married to Cambodian woman in Australia with a son and then he got married again in Cambodia. His parents and siblings are living in Cambodia, except him. Before I never draw my attention to his words, he always said that married man is not easy. He always gives me and my single friends advices not to get married early. He added that after marry, we have many responsibily for family. At that time, he told me that his life is now deteriorating from day to day. Because he has not enough time to earn in living and his health is not so good. He told me that he is stressed out because he thinks so much. He need to come to Cambodia for relaxion.
Before he met his wife in Australia, he went to New Zealand to study. Because of hardness in New zealand, he made dicission to travel to Australia and then he met his wife overthere.
One of my friends, Channa, visited his family in Australia in the period of Khmer New Year this year. He met Sambo overthere, and he have photos taken together for souvenir. Channa told me and other friends that, Sambo’s living standard in Australia is more difficult than in Cambodia. If he would live in Cambodia, her life is better than in Australia. And Channa added that his health is weak.
This morning, I chatted with him, he still tell me that we should not marry early because we have many obligation to support family. I responded to him “Life is hard, complicated and difficult”. Each one cannot avoid the wedding’s life. What is important is that we have to think that how to improve married-after-life and to make family to have happiness. He joked with me, and he said that he wants to convert to Islam religion in order to have 4 wivies. In this point, I still wonder why does man need to have other girl (step-wife and mistress)?. I do not say about the conflicted family. I say about family with happiness.
At the end, I can not still judge the married and unmarried life whether which one is better. I used to meet married man, he said that his life is no problem after marry because his wife can cook, wash and iron clothes, and do some thing for him. For Cambodian Constitution said that, the both male and female have equal rights in living.

I think you made an innocent mistake of “women.” What happens if your friend’s wife comes and sees this?

It does not mean that he had two wivies. It means that he and his wife got married two times in Australia and In Cambodia.
If he only has one wife, why do you use the word “women”?

Hey! Don’t blame the early marriage and don’t marry a woman so she can do your stuff. It is totally wrong lah… Woman aint guy’s maid. And hey, if you are not happy with your life, make a change. I’m not telling you to get divorce but hello! do sth to make you and your family happy. Simply start with a talk. Love will help family understand one another, believe me!

In fact, I don’t blame any one. Generally, after marriage, every one have to have more obligations to do, s/he will become husband/ wife, father/mother, and so on. So, single life is different from married life. Happiness happen because of understanding each other. If we know that we have no job, money to support family, we should not get married early. Do you think so?
