Religion to be trumpled on to earn money
At the present, some of people have been exploiting religion for earning their living. They posed themselves as monks or clergies to beg for alms and raise money for building or reparing temple buildings. Buddhist is morality for common people and is taken into account by Government. But exloitation of Buddhist is avoidably bad act and it is urging to lose value and belief for people’s respect.
Local newspaper reported that four men were arrested by military police in Banteay Meanchey province because they disguised as clergies to raise money from residents from house to house. Those tricksters confessed that they raised money to buy meal and rent house. They added that this act was not given permissi. Because they they are poor, they made dicission to do like this.
By the way, some posed as Buddhist monks to beg for alms. The Cambodia Daily reported that two men were apprehended in Kandal province and then sent to prison and charged with deceiving people for money. Meanwhile the both said they disguised as monks because they are lazy to work. By the way, they confessed to earning 70,00 to 80,000 Riel ($17,5 to $20) per day.
I think that Ministry of Cult and Religion should take immediately action to imposters because it is affecting Buddhist and innocent monks and clergies. Buddhist is respected by Cambodian people and it is Nation Religion. So that Government have to take action and punish the tricksters by law.
