Gay men help raise AIDS awareness in Cambodia
According to foreign news, washingtomblade, among 6 of 11 candidates were chosen by local health organization- Khana – on Friday to represent national network to help raise awareness about the dangers of HIV/AIDS in Cambodia. And they will be working with more than 3,000 gay men in three provinces in Cambodia.
The source added that Cambodia’s HIV infection rate is 1.9 percent among people in the 15-49 age bracket, among the highest in Sooutheat Asia. By the way, gay men also have sex with women, and could therefore be serving as a bridge groups of HIV transmission to the general population.
The gay representatives would become “one voice representing MSM in Cambodia”. MSM stands for “Men who have sex with men”.
