LotoThe popular 1960s comedian died at the age of 75 years in his Phnom Penh’s small house in Meanchey district’s Stung Meanchey commune at around 7:10 pm on August 07, 2006. Who is he? His mane is Pin Suon Bou. Most people really have known his famous name, called Loto. He was the popular movie star in 60s but he still performed for several years on Televisions, and movies as well. After he fell ill during the last 5 years, we never saw him performing on TV Concert or movies. He used to act in movies by Retired King Norodom Sihanouk. In 2002, he performed in Cambodian production in “City of Ghost”. And other more movies are acted also.

His family is very poor. They have no enough money to hold his Buddhism ceremony. At the mean times, there are neighbors, aquaintances, fellow performers and generous people have contributed their some of their own money to his family and relatives to arrange traditional ceremony. While local-Khmer newspapers published announcement to people to help his family.

I960 well-known film stars have died and stayed away from TV and Movie reviewers, because they are getting old. Dy Savath, veteran film star, expressed sorrow at the death of the dwarf entertainer. She added that “No comedian can compare with the skill of his acting.”

There are many charitable person in country and abroad cotributing some money to his family through local newspaper, Kohsantepheap Daily. It is very sad for losing talent actor.

The retired King Norodom Sihanouk contributed $1,000 to his funeral.

For my opion, The government should help his poor family.
