“Withering Flower†(Phka Srophon) is a famous novel by Nou Hach who is Cambodian writer to step away from the old ways of writing drama, in verse with Buddhist concepts, to write a modern novel in narrative prose in the 50s. In the present, it is in the standard high school curriculum.
Now, “Withering Flower†was made movie by Independent Video Production. Performers are Heng Bunleap, Sakara Bopha, Kann Sovanny, Sveng Socheata, Uok Somavatey and others.
The Nou Hach Literary Association is named after a respected Cambodian writer and its goal is to enable Khmer literature to progress and discover its own sense of modernity.
