Nearly 10 guys were walking into Karaoke room in order to drink and sing songs. Then female room manager followed with them and asked them to order kind of beer and wine but she did not ask guests whether you needed girls to sit near by. Less than 5 minutes later, girls were standing in line near the wall and waiting for guests to choose.
Yana was a girl amongst girls, who was asked to sit near. Life of Yana was not different from Niza’s life working as Karaoke girl. Yana is 19 year old; she has 4 siblings living in her family in rented house. She is responsible for living cost and her parents. She told the guest that she get paid only $50 per month plus guest-service additional income which she got paid only $1 per room. Meanwhile, she could get tips from guests. And she said that sometimes she was not given paid. More than 8 months she has been working for the Karaoke building. She is beautiful and smiling face, she is good at chatting with guests. Before going to work, she has to make up every day.
Thank to poor family, she had to drop school at the grade 10. As observed, she knows English a little bit, because she can send message to her friends. She added that her salary is not enough to feed her family. Even though, she is trying to make money. She has not choice but to work as Karaoke girl. She said that she met different kind of guys who came to sing and drink in Karaoke room. She used to meet young guests at the age of between 17 to 20 year, and middle age guests as well. She did not like young boys but she loves middle men.
She did not know what career she will do in the future. She said that now she has no enough money to start up her own business. And she carried out that now she could not determine that this and that job she will do. By the way, she said that she does not need to have boy friend because she does not get trouble with him. She added that she will be able to become the victim of affair as well, so that she chooses the way without lover.
