Buddhist Monk’s voting lifted

The Supreme Buddhist patriarch, Tep Vong, announced all monks to have rights to vote but not to engage in “people power” at the annual Buddhist Monk Congress at Phnom Penh’s Chaktomuk Theather. At the mean time, he urged all Buddhist monks and clergy to remain grateful to the ruling CPP’s leadership for saving the country from Khmer Rouge regime from 1975-79. In 2003 national election, all monks were banned to vote, even though they were being allowed to do so by lay.
