Tien Narith, former politic science teacher at Buddhist University, were fired from school in August and jailed in September because he lectured the students from his anti-government textbook.
Recently, the lawyer requested Phnom Penh municipal court to accept new doctor to examine his client’s mentality, but the municipal judge denied the lawyer’s request. Following the arrest, his parents claimed that their son have suffered from mental problem, so that they need their son’s psychiatric evaluation.
Psychiatrist Ka Sun Baunat was quoted by The Cambodia Daily as saying Tuesday, he submitted his evaluation of Tien Narith to the Health Ministry nearly two months ago. But until now, no result was revealed yet. So that, the Tien Narith’s lawyer proposed municipal court for new psychiatrist to assess his client.
