4 websites for exploiting King’s name

According to the Associated Press’s report, “the royal palace condemns vigorously all persons usurping (the King’s name) for their personal use or to slander the sovereign.” There are 4 websites that use the name of the King as following: www.norodomsihamoni.com; www.norodomsihamoni.info; www.norodomsihamoni.net; www.norodomsihamoni.gov.

The official website of the King Norodom Sihanmoni is www.norodomsihamoni.org

In this particular case, it is obvious the owner of the domain (the .com) is using it for profit (parked at a PPC page), rather than slander. However, it can be misconstrued as slander, because the auto optimized link showed gambling and dating.

The “site” is not really a site per say, but a parked page, which uses computer optimization to shell out affiliate links. The best solution, would be to buy out the domain. I am sure the owner would probably sell it for a couple grand. Another option is to use ICANN to persue a UDRP (Uniform domain dispute resolution policy) case. In such event, the plaintiff must convince the court that the domain name was used in “bad faith”.
