Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and Communication (MPTC) and National Election Committee (NEC) announced all Phnom companies, Mobitel, CamShin and HelloGSM in Cambodia to postpone sending Text Messaging one day before commune election on April 1.

That is the message receiving from mobile phone Company announcing that:

Dear TMIC (Customer As instructed by Cambodia government. SMS will be unavailable from 00:00 AM March 31, 2007 to 03:00 pm April 01, 2007.

According to Bangkok Post, Death threats and intimidation can also be spread via text message, pointing out that unionist Chea Vichea received threats via text before he was gunned down in 2004.
