Khmer New Year 2007 (the Year of the Pig) from 14, 15 and 16 is the greatest traditional festival and greatest national holiday. the timing of the New Year coincides with the peak of the dry season, a time when traditionally there was little work to be done in agriculture, because the rice had been harvested and processed for storage and the fields were too dry to be plooughed and sown.
