In the last few years, number of Cambodian bloggers is increasing remarkably after ICT is being imported in Cambodia. I noted that most of people who created their own blog are most young youths living in Phnom Penh, some provinces and abroad, because the internet does not still cover across country. By the way, its price is still high in comparison with neighboring countries. After chatting with http://feed.e-khmer.net’s owner, she said that nowadays, more than 300 Cambodian bloggers have been created. .

On Saturday May 26, 2007 the blog training was conducted at Economics and Finance Institute (EFI) with 127 young students attending, organized by Open Forum of Cambodia in cooperation with EFL. Conducting training is aimed at providing understanding of growing ICT and instructing students how to create.
As we know blog is a power tool of freedom of expression that has enthused million of ordinary people. Passive consumers of information have energetic participants in a new kind of journalism. Some view blogs as the vanguard of a new information revolution.
Srokhmer, who is living oversee, gave his comment as saying that: “Blogging is a way to express thoughts and perspective for the whole world to see. It is never about censorship. The main contents on most blogs are subjective and opinionated. It should remain that way. A blog is the ultimate free form of expression, reaching various audiences with different thoughts and perspective. In other words, a well written blog is what democracy should be; individual sharing ideas and creating new ones”.
Lorrele VanFossen, who is a professional writer and a popular technical blog on Wordpress and blogging, said that “Blogging, as it began, was about sharing yourself, your knowledge, your experience, your story, helping others to learn with you or from you. Now, it’s becoming too much like a hobby turned into a business. She added that in order to get attention and really build a community of reader, it is not about making money. It’s about the sharing, listening and creating original content people want to read and like to”.
Emerging new Cambodian bloggers are presently aimed to share their personal stories, news, photos and others. By the way, they have created blog in order to network with their friends and other people, but they now do never think about blogging for money.
