Bored of traffic jam in Phnom Penh
I always feel bored of traveling in Phnom Penh due to traffic jam. Traffic congestion often occurs in the morning and evening during Phnom Penh residents go to work, market and anywhere. By the way, the traffic jam is because of crazy drivers who do not respect traffic law. And they don’t drive their vehicles in their line. That is the problem to cause traffic troubles.
Borin said about “5 funny facts Phnom Penhers (traffics)†when there are some problems, traffic police do not care; they just stand and see the problems. By the way, their tasks only take money from taxi and travelers who do not respect the law. Virak paid bribe to police because they take his cap whose has color like military police cap.
Khmer Klang commented that “crazy Cambodian traffic anarchy…without doubt there is a necessity for safer traffic…my concern: traffic police is already looking forward to the proposed changes in law…downside: Toyota land cruiser and Lexus with dark windows will not adapt their driving inability since they do not have to fear any adverse consequences…after all
only ordinary people is punished for toned windows…since the traffic police tried to fine me for driving with light by daytime, I believe that traffic police will for sure continue to fine me for any inventive reason that might come up in their corrupt brains…solution: Hun Sen could sponsor the police by granting them an income sufficient to survive so thatpolice does no longer depend on briberies and corruptionâ€.

National Assembly is making discussion and passing the Draft traffic law, which is regarded as the important issue to contribute to decreasing traffic accident in Cambodia. The draft law has 12 chapters and 95 articles. The major purpose of law is to limit the speeding of circulating on the road in Cambodia. Drivers will be allowed possibly to drive only 30 to 40 Km per hour in cities and towns. By the way, the law enforces drivers of two and three-wheeled vehicles to wear helmet, while car drivers have to tighten safety belt. Drinking beer and telephoning are banned during driving.
A boy is pointing to all travelers to respect traffic law, telling not to stop on the crossing place.

I guess the problem is law enforcement and the moral of Cambodian people (sil lak thor). Once these are solve, it may help to alleviate the issue.
I, myself, doesn’t like the traffic condition in PP. Luckily i am from Sihanouk Ville. yahooo 
Regarding to traffic jam in Phnom Penh, to reduce this problem, the main solution is that everyone must respect the traffic law and must respect the others right during driving. Road condition is an important thing too. If the municipality of Phnom Penh just only intend to build the new roads or fix some damage roads without paying attention to the sawage system, roads still being in bad condition that cause the traffic jam. Another problem is using sidewalk and part of road as vehicled parking or hall installation during special events, wedding for instance.
The reason for traffic jam are:
Driver do not obey law, they do not stop at red light, they try to turn whenever they want to.
Another main reason is: the road condition, we all see that most of road min Phnom Penh, are dusty during the dry season, and muddy during the rainy season. If the road condition is better, we will be able to divert traffic from the main road, to smaller road…. So the main road to not runs at its bottle neck..
So demand for better road condition
