How to motivate my friends to create blog?
Thursday, August 23, 2007 11:09Why do I ask this question to all of you? It is because I need all you to help me find out the answer to the question. Since I created blog, and then I always have told my friends to do it as well in order to share something with and keep in touch with each other. It is maybe that I prefer blog than them.
But all of them are not interested in it, and they said that “I am not interested in it, I do not like to do it but I like using internet to search for information, I do not like to write something, I have no enough time to do it, I am busy with my work, I have no knowledge of IT, I am lazy…†these words are coming from my friends’ mouth. Until now, I have no method and strategy to urge them to participate in blogging because they are not interested in it.
What I need them to create blog because I know they have different ideas, knowledge and working experiences to share with each others. And I want them to break their silence.
So far, I convinced one of my best friends to create his own blog and I taught him how to create it. It was because he said to me that he needed it. It is contrary to what he told me, after he knew how to do it, he never updates his blog anymore. Why???
Do you all have any method or strategy to motivate some one to create blog? I should still push them to have blog? I should keep silent in talking with them about this?

Vutha, I tell my friends that creating a blog would let the world know about their skills and knowledge. Their profile appears on Google and a foreign agency or person looking for a collaborator can easily find a person through the blog while searching the net. If you are not publishing on the net then you are invisible to the world to a certain extent.
Another way I encourage friends to blog is to keep a blog about their kids growing up. I tell them it will be nice when the kids are older, you can go through the memories.
I think this will be a good topic to discuss at the blogger summit next week. I hope you are there. I am looking forward to meeting you.

Thanks Preetam Rai for your good idea. I hope to meet you at Cambodian Bloggers Summit in Phnom Penh. See you over there.
What i raised this topic is because i observe that most of Cambodian students and youths do not care about it for new high technology, especially my friends.

as my friend, ohoo.. how difficult they are? some friends of me, even email using very yabb!! used to teach them 1 or 2 times. and after still nothing they got.
they ask me: “why you can use internet?” i said: “it’s because i like it, interested, i didn’t know what to do when i’s free”. i told that if we just walk-sit-sleep again &again at home, we’ll know nothing outside. and my important idea is: “try to love computer and internet u’ll get better bout it”

[...] What I said above is because that I want to encourage my friend to blog and share what he has. By the way, he has more working experiences. And now he is independent researcher and lecturer at university. He has written two books on “Toward the establishment of Stock Exchange in Cambodia†and “What is Stock Exchangeâ€. The both are written in Khmer and English. By the way, I used to talk about the difficulty to motivate my friends to create blog. I now try to encourage him. It is not successful yet.I hope you all will share with me? [...]

Never underestimate the power of the internet. An increasing number of people use the internet
to search for a business or service so having a web presence is an important media for promoting
your company. Web design is a real skill and if your website is to not only look good but work well,
it should be constructed by a professional web designer.

I saw that Casey Fronczek is offering fishing trips now down in south Florida. Does anybody have any input on these trips or has anyone been on one of these trips before?
