Workshop on “Role of youth in peace buildingâ€
Last week, I went to Siem Reap to attend workshop on “Role of youth in peace building†organized by Youths for Peace from 20-25 September, 2007 with 200 young participants from different provinces and municipality, including Phnom Penh, Battambang, Kampong Chhnang, and Takeo provinces.
There are many issues happening in the current society such as gang-related violence, crime, drugs, HIV/AIDS, trafficking of women and children for sex affect youths. Therefore, Cambodian youths have to play important role in building peace in society.
During attending workshop, those youths learn and gain new experiences related to peace, youth volunteers, experienced peace buildings, building culture of peace in communities and interaction of religion in the world.
