Bus

Spending 6 hours to travel by bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, this was the first time for me to go by Mekong Express Company’s bus on Friday afternoon. I thought that it was comfortable but it is more expensive than other bus companies. It costs $7 per person but others are only $4 from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and via versa by going through three provinces- Kandal, Kompong Cham and Kompong Thom provinces.

Services the company served passengers are Sandwich, a bottle of water and soft drink as well. By the way, the bus stops only one time at the bus station in Kompong Thom province. Traveling toward to Siem Reap, there is a bus hostess who describes about each places that the bus arrived such as the history of tourist resort, village, commune and so on along the road to passengers in Khmer and English.

There is a toilet installed on the bus for passengers, no need bus to stop many times. That is what I saw is different from other bus.

How many hours is the trip? Is it air conditioned? I’m thinking about a possible trip back with my kids and want to get to Angkor Wat cheap. What do you think for Westerners?

Spending 6 hours from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. and Bus is equipped with air conditioner as well. While i was at Siem Reap i saw many foreigner tourists than other tourist sites.

I just want to let you know that spending on everything there is more expensive than Phnom Penh. I think you should visit Angkor Wat. I went there many times. Even me, it is hard for me to ride Tuk Tuk or motordob because i don’t know well the destination places. they charge me high cost. As you know, i just spend only $1 for renting bike per day to go somewhere.
