Fella,

Nowadays, Xmas is being celebrated worldwide whether one is being Christian or not. It’s becoming more like a commercial reason to celebrate for retailers to earn money from the festive mood. So no big deal if Cambodia is also joining the festive crowd like in many countries worldwide and also in S.E.Asia… This is now called ” globalization” era!

Yes, I agree with u, Borin. Cambodian people just know that Christmas day is Christmas. So, I feel worry for what they did is wrong.

Christmas is about the celebration of the birth of Jesus.

People would normally go to church, have a mass/pray then everyone would reunite with their family or love one or friend. It’s the time of the year that they would meet and leave behind all their pasts and differences. But these days, sorry to say that Christmas is all about material needs [presents and gifts] and not much of belief any more. Australians spent about 500 million dollars alone on the last day of Christmas shopping [5 billion dollars during the season], retailers are happy with the figure.
Now they are having Mid-year clearance sale, just day after Christmas, I believed another billion will be spent as well.
