I left my workplace at around 6:00 pm with my friend by car, starting from traffic light near Olympic stadium along Nerhu Street by going through two traffic lights. I spent one hour by driving along one-kilometer stretch of street it was because of traffic congestion. I noted that there were no traffic police stationed at each traffic light in order to ease the traffic. At that time, drivers tried to move their cars forwards until getting stuck. By the way, each driver did not respect traffic law.

Why were there not traffic police at the traffic light on the evening? Is it time for them to go home? In fact, we should pity them because they work many hours per day, sometimes they have duty to do on holiday too.

I just returned from Cambodia and have noticed that Phnom Penh traffic has gotten progressively worse for the past few years. The increase in the number of cars on the road and booming housing construction can only make matters worse. The solution will largely depend on how successful the government will be in moving people out from the crowded areas.

I am really bored of traffic jam in Phnom Penh, especially in the morning and evening. Sometimes, i do not like to drive on the main roads, taking detour in the small streets.

well, we shouldn’t put all the blame to the gov’t since our ppl partly involve in making this matter worst. without the warden there might be no one stops when the red light on.

another thing is ppl drive cars in four rows in the same direction.

So only all of us can make this better.

The population is on the increase, and the infrastructure in city are being upgraded however there are no extra main roads. If all motorist [everyone] would kindly respect traffic law and rules [stop on red light and gracefully moving when green, no double or triple parking and stop as when one please] then roads would not be so bad, I beleived
