After Khmer Rouge regime was toppled, most of Cambodian people attended school too late. Because school building had been destroyed and closed. To me, I was too late to attend school as well, aged at 10. Looking at the present time, young boys and girls start their study at the age of more than 3 or 4 at private school. What is different from the past and the present? I really appreciate them; they are clever, smart and brave. But there are differences between the children in rural areas and town and city. Children in rural area have no good chance like those in town and city.

My niece, aged more than 3 years, attended English private school in Phnom Penh.

She is adorable. I love little kids in uniform. Education is very important. Kids nowaday are very very intellect. As they say it “they are our future”. CUTE CUTE.

Past and present is not much of different these day but rather be given the opportunity to be educated is more important in particular at the early age [early childhood education, I called]. The plight of children at rural and remote areas who can’t make to school as many would like to see is being heard and I believed that many local and international NGO try their best to spread the word about the important of education but alone would not help if the parent would not understand the issue.
Glad to hear that your niece can attend school at such early age, she will have a lot of future ahead of her.

In fact, My niece’s age is not reaching to attend public school. We send her to private school because we wants her not to be afraid of someone. Normally, all children have at the age of 6 years, who are allowed to enroll at public school.
It is good for children to be sent to private school before early school age to attend school.

It is always good idea to send them school at early age as possible. I put my son at private school in Phnom Penh when he is 2 and half years old, and it pay off as he loves to be at school, being with other children companion at child care when ever we are at wotk or when he is on school holiday
