Looking at the people in rural areas, besides harvesting rice fields, they try to spend more time in order to make more money to support family. Some have temporarily left their home to seek work in towns and city such as construction workers, motor-taxi drivers, and so on. Even though, their income still cannot support their family enough.

Khmer handicraft

Taking more time to make handicrafts is low income for supporting family. In the meantime, they have to hawk them from place to place.

It’s a great idea if all our farmers can do and can find a way to earn extra income on their free times from rice planting season. Extra income is always handy and a great bonus towards the standard of living.

Such handicraft would not be made more money to support their family because small cash have been earned by spending more times to do it and selling it as well.
