Young teenager are absorbing foreign culture without making consideration. One day, it will affect the Khmer Culture.

Gov’t have to take action against some inactive matters happening in society.

Valentine in America, and I’m sure in Cambodia is simply another way to commercialize a holiday. In fact, all holidays are commercialize. In other words, it’s all about consumption, and profiting businesses. It’s good for small local businesses (flower shops, candy shops, jewelers, restaurants, food vendors, etc.)

On the other hand, it does help to ruin Khmer traditions. Hey, we have to move forward sometime, whether one likes it or not. It is a global community. With tv, cellphones, and the internet, ideas to spread within seconds, and culture all over the world are changing.

In the time of globalization, all countries over the world always get other cultures from other countries but what we have to think is that we have to accept what is benefiting the country and people. It is good to get new culture. Sometimes new culture destroy our traditional culture. Be careful!!!

At the present, Cambodia get new culture from modern countries such as clothing, technology, culture and so on.

Valentine’s Day is a day to show off love to everyone between children and parents, brother and sister, you and your love…ect It means general not just for you and your and girl friend- it is for everyone to show love and get together as whole family to dine out and presents exchanged…ect It is not a bad holiday or celebration, but the bad thing is our Cambodian people like to take something wrong way without understanding the term and the meaning of it. It is because of the misleading information from mouth to mouth. I, totally, encourage Cambodian people to take this holiday as every country, but just doing the right way like trying to make your mama or papa happy beside going out with your girlF or boyF and having sex…

As you know Cambodian people don’t really know that kind of Piramid Cheme.
