Blogging politic topic?

In the last few years, there are many blogs booming in Cambodia and written by young Cambodian youths both living in the country and abroad. I have gone through many blogs written by Cambodian fellow bloggers posting mostly about the personalization, entertainment, traveling, technology, and so on, and just sharing information and photos and building relationship with friends and fellow bloggers but the politic topic is not most importantly focused on. A few posts are blogged relating to politic by party supporters or politicians.

Blogging about politic topic is not mostly interesting. Why? It is because it is very dangerous to life or life threat. Even though, as we know that blog is a tool and a part of social media to express our voices, freedom of press or information on it. However, politics is very sensitive topics that we all are afraid of talking about freely or openly. By the way, some journalists have been threatened, intimidated to life, arrested, jailed and killed.

In the present time, revealing real issues of the illegal logging, corruption, land grabbing is very dangerous to reports or journalists because it leads to the loss of the interests of the powerful or the rich.

Even me, I feel afraid of blogging above sensitive topics. Meanwhile, Cambodian bloggers do seem not to participate in making discussion about these topics at all. Therefore, online expression of thoughts or opinion over politics is limited, though the government has yet to censor online content, not like other countries in Southeast Asia.

The best way is that we should stay away from blog post of sensitive topics. What is important is that we should blog for what to build relationships with friends and fellow bloggers and find other ways about how to monetize from blog (not available). What kinds of topic do you like blogging? Do you like talking about politics?

Hm, politic is such a sensitive issue to write about. Yet it doesn’t mean it is not safe to talk about that. If I am not wrong, there is a blog, Sakavar or s.th, which is very sensitive in politic.

If the government gives real freedom of expression and speech, we could not be afraid of talking about sensitive issues but previously some journalists have been threatened, arrested and killed.

In the fact, youths should be more active to raise and challenge this issues but society does not ensure our lives. How can we do? I does not mean that what i said discourage youths to participate in politic and something in society. What is important is that we need the government to offer full freedom to our people to speak out about their concerns.

I blog of what I’m eye-witnessing. I’m not trying to tweak, but about the truth.
Politics is under my claim: “Personal insights and records of a Cambodian who is indigenous to Pursat, Cambodia…”

Those who lose their individual interests because of revealing their bad acts, they will not allow all reporter or journalist to sleep quietly. Therefore, the sensitive topic is very dangerous. the powerful and the rich can turn black into white, wrong into right thanks to your power and money.

In the fact, the reporters like to discover what is true.

For me, i like to blog for what is true as well. Hahaha

Sure! we should not post about Politics even we clear about that. Sometime we unclear about the politics.
Knowledge about Tourism, wegetable, histories, love, health,….also good for post

Hey sir/madam the message above only my point of views.

Chhaya

It is my belief and understanding that we, as the people, should not fear of reprisal or repercussion, if we’re categorically and unflinchingly underpinned our principles and convictions, and therefore should — under any circumstances — do whatever necessary to protect our ideological principles to sustain our impregnable belief, irrespective of our diametrically philosophical differences.

In addition to my previous post, I’d like to add a minor thing to the “freedom of expression,” as you’ve have alluded, eloquently. It is of paramount importance that we do not have any misapprehension, in this day and age, with respect to the “freedom of expression” due to the fact that it can be double-edged sword, and therefore we have to be wary of what we “say” and and how we “say” it, because if we’re oblivious of the context and meaning of “freedom of expression,” we can unequivocally find ourselves in the hot water. Therefore, prior to expressing our ideas, we have to gingerly cautious about how and who we express our ideas.

The reporters ASK relevant and unbiased (sometimes) questions (in the interests of the readers).

thanks Koun Khmer, I understood for what u are thinking about. We all should have full right to voice our opinion but political environment surrounding us does not give us good opportunity. To me, i am pleased to set up my own blog and can share my own opinion and knowledge with all of you but my shared opinion is limited. Why??? it is because of society phenomenon to make me afraid to talk freely something.

I have a perfect understanding of the political climate your live in; also, I understand the Cambodian political landscape, which you have limited expression on your freedom. Again, as I have previously alluded to the fact that freedom of speech is “double-edged sword.”

Using internet is simple as hell. But I can tell y ou right now, it can be very hard, if you are the first time user.
So, first thing I suggest – open the Explorer, and type in the address you like.
You’ll get there really fast, it depends on your connection speed.
Good luck.
