Educating yourself to stay away from corruption or combating against corruption by starting from each individual is the great way to root out the corruption. That is the conversation between police and woman who is driver:

Woman: Please receive this money! I am prepared to offer you because I parked my car at inhabited place.

Police: No…. Madam, I do not receive it! We should make our country non-corruption.

Non-corruption

if everyone could do that must be good , but i guess it still…..maybe 5 year later abit better

  2. vutha says:

That is the educated article but the fact, i always see the traffic police get money from taxi drivers, personal truck or transportation, even thought the amount is small. But it is not the fault of police, it is the government’s management, that pay small amount of monthly salary to them. and they cannot support their family.

How to clean corruption in Cambodia???

  3. lina says:

You can not clean up corruptions. Corruptions everywhere…but just in cambodia, it’s worst. Do police really support their family or do they go out to the night light…? hahahaa jkjk

  4. vutha says:

That is true, I cannot clean up corruption. Corruption happens particularly in public institutions. I do not know whether after getting money from violated people and then what they do , i dont know. hahahaha…..

  5. Im Sokthy says:

to clean corruption, just wait and see after the anti-corruption law is adopted.

  6. vutha says:

Do you think that the anti-corruption will be passed soon? if after it is passed, whether corruption in Cambodia will be going down?

  7. boran says:

hehe, you are touching politic issue, i guess. u said it’s dangerous, didn’t you? anyway, there should be a divine cleaner for such corruption in cambodia, and i’m not able to see the picture of that…

(oh this new design is better, compared to the previous one… :D )

  8. boran says:

    sorry, is NICE! i meant… :D

  9. vutha says:

@ Boran, that is ok. the activity of this image is not like the real activities happening in the current society. Before, I got used to be fined by police, but it was ok because i violated traffic law. What is important is that traffic police did not give me receipt, and they said that it is fine and cash for them to drink coffee. When i asked them to give me receipt and then they said that “You have many mistakes”. hahahaha

  10. lina says:

Yes you are absolutely right….corruptions can onlly decrease but NEVER will be completely clean up. Anyhow, if it was be…i would just give them double the amount if they tell me that they are only asking for the amount of a cup of coffee. In my book, that takes alot of guts. Just for that, i’ll double up the amount…haha

  11. vutha says:

While driving along the street, i aways observe the police’s activities. If the cars and luxury cars with license plate as Police, Military police or government plates violated the traffic light, traffic police rarely stop those cars. If the common people, they really stopped and fined, along with using impolite words as well.

Therefore, sometimes, i really do not like the traffic police’s behavior. Sometimes, i feel pity for them when i saw them standing in the sun and solve traffic jam. So that, what i said does not mean that I blame all of police.

if we are serious about corruption then we should start from oursleves. We all are too familiar and claimed that officers were demanding money but we discount the facts that sometime we were the person to bribe them for not other specific reason but to have a short cut or thing our way.

Law shall be stipulated and prosecuted for both obtaining bribe and offering bribe [both way]

For myself, I don’t know how to clean corruption in Cambodia what is important is that the top leaders have to have willingness to implement it. I just quoted Mr. Sorn Chey, director of Khmer Institute for Democracy from the Mekong Times as saying that:

  15. chharda says:

both of this quote is perfect

  16. Piseth says:

While the country is in trouble, the small group of people say it is ok though…let’s just hehe…and go on…

But the fact, corruption is higher up everyday as many positions are available for those who are willing to be corrupted only. For those who are working for “clean” “ស្អាតស្អំ” have shorter term to serve or have no opportunities at all. And the clean mindset always live in fear…is that true everyone? តើវាយ៉ាប់អស់ទាស់ រឺក៏ឡូយអស់ទាស់?
