Should hide your real name on blog?
I am not interested in some blog owner hiding their real name. It’s just said that it is like an anonymous blog; even thought content is good or interesting. I don’t want to leave comments or dig deeply into their blog because I don’t know who s/he is and where s/he is. It does not mean that you are needed to reveal your detailed personal information. At least, you should tell your name. How will we build relationship with someone without realizing their name?
I used to stumble over some blogs, on which not showing their real name. I think it isn’t too bad, just displaying name on your blog if you want to build social network with other people over the world. By the way, it can help extend your relationship with fellow bloggers.
On the other word, all blog post is just saying about the personal issues, travel or sharing some thought, experience and knowledge with others. You should not be afraid of showing your name on your blog in public.
If you have no reason to keep your identity confidential, you are able to benefit from your name on display and contact person such as attraction of attention, becoming recognized as expert or something in a particular field and so on.

To my idea, showing owner’s details(at least name) help build more confident to readers. I’ve tried to give as detailed info about me as possible on my blog.
However, someone prefers anonymity, and their have their own reason. An outstanding anonymous blog is “The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs(fakesteve.blogspot.com).
What if you say something about Burma, and one day you can’t get a visa to get into the country?
@Wanna, I agree with u but it does not mean that we all need to know their confidential issues.
@Tharum, I never hear this news. is that true?
That’s a good question. My understanding is that people don’t disclose their personal information due to two main reasons: security and personal preference. Those especially writing about politics will remain anonymous because they’ve seen that many fellow bloggers in other countries have been arrested for political reasons. And even with a pseudo-name, they may still be tracked down and arrested. On the other hand, for personal choice, some people just don’t feel comfortable to disclose their name, and with a fake name they feel more comfortable talking openly. I somehow belong to this second category.
It is true that we have to be very careful when we write topics related to the politics. it is good to hide our real name by writing something on criticizing someone in the politics but should avoiding it. if we are not politicians, we should avoid from writing something on politics, it is not good game to play with.
It is good when we write topic related to Technology, Business, Entertainment and so on in the form of providing education and awareness. Revealing real name on the public is building your reputation.
Even myself, i feel afraid of talking about politics . it is not good for us to talk about.
I can’t say it’s good or bad.
oh i prefer that people show the name, but please careful of the political issues…
It depends on where you live and what you do. I don’t really care about people revealing their names and such…. For example, I have to actually disenabled some of my old blogs b/c of security issues related to work. Over here in the states, people now uses information on your blog or anything that has anything related to you for employment. You are not supposed to judge people from that, but nowaday companies are starting to do that. That is one of the many reasons why I don’t really get into blogging. In fact, I had to remove all of my real name on all of my blogs b/c of work related issues. You kind of get to the point where you don’t want everyone in the world to know everything about you because it’s dangerous. Since I work with students/parents/faculty…I can not have my real name on anything that I do. On a personal level, I don’t really care. I feel like you read what you get. But on a higher end…you have to be careful. It’s kind of a sad world to live in..haha.
(Blushing) I am one of the anonymous blogger lolz. Never mind, its crystal clear that people see sth differently, and so does it.
Peace
for me even am not post my name as a blog name but i could write my name and something about me at my page , i will not hide and if someone want to know more about me they can ask i dont mind
@Barbie, never mind if u post sensitive tops and hide your name. But we should show our real name if we just write some for building relationship and share information.
@chharda, it is enough information that u show in about page. Not need to show in URL. I just want to say that some bloggers hide their info. So we cannot know who they are.
oh ok ja
