Sometimes it is hard to find the restaurant serving favorite food such as turtle in Phnom Penh. That is the second time that friends of mine have asked me to eat steamed turtle at small restaurant run by family. As I know there are not so much restaurant serving turtle because it is the kind of wildlife to be banned from selling. I do not know why does this restaurant dare to sell the kind of turtle?

Most of clients always go there to eat steamed turtles. Turtle’s shields have been removed and then steamed. The price is ranging from 30,000 Riel ($7.50) to 60,000 Riel ($15), depending on the size of turtle. At that time, I asked the girl, who is daughter of restaurant’s owner, and she told me that “She has bought these turtles from people from different provinces” and she added that “it is impossible to raise it.”

Mr. Vutha, You should not be eating turtles. Same as eating dogs or any other animals out there. After I saw the picture, makes me want to go to the bathroom. You should take it out.
