The controversial conflict over Preah Vihear temple between Cambodia and Thailand was resolved, with Thai government agreeing to back Cambodia’s application for the historic border temple to be listed as a World Heritage Site. International Court of Justice ruled the temple belonging to Cambodia on June 15 1962.
I strongly support the cerebration of anniversary marked last week on June 15, 2008 at Wat Botum. That is good sign to keep in mind of all next Cambodian generation by revealing that Preah Vihear is really belonging to Cambodia, not like what Thais are thinking. We can ask ourselves that why Thailand still take care of this temple?
Last year, I went to Preah Vihear province but it was bad I did not reach the temple of Preah Vihear because our mini-bus got stuck in mud and then we were back.

Marking ceremony of anniversary of Preah Vihear temple ruled by International Court of Justice on June, 15 2008 in front of Wat Botum pagoda.

That was the bumpy and dirty road leading to Preah Vihear temple, which i visited last year, but not approached temple.

Often politicians use such sensitive issues for political gain. In Thailand they use to attack the government, in Cambodia they use to gain popularity.
I don care, whether it belong to Thai or Khmer, just do go to violent

I do not care of politics, but what is important is that Preah Vihear is belonging to Cambodia that i care of. Thais always need this temple. Therefore, they always wage the war along the Cambodia-Thai border and Cambodians living near border were killed during a few last years.

World heritage….PV is in the safe hand but Khmer should be make it more memorable of what are we belong.. thanks for sharing the good news.

Well, we’re all happy that Preah Vihea Temple will be inscrigbed into The World Heritage Property. And by doing so, Thai will, no long, claims that Preah Vihea belongs to it. We, being kherm people, will have once and for all rgiht to be the owner of this old temple forever.
Besides this happy news, there has been also a worried news disagreement of Cambodia and Thai Government, that is, Thai side does not agree to the proposal of registration of Preah Vihea Temple as The World Heritage Site made by Cambodian Government and that will be submitted to UNESCO in upcoming date. Thai Government Officer said that,in complexity, Thai-Cambodia border has not, correctly, been determinated yet. If Cambodia Government wants put Preah Vihea as The World Heritage Site, Thai would lost its territory, that is, some part of land of Preah Vihea. But it was not true, actually, not only Preah Vihea that had been already sentenced by Lo Er International Court on June-15-1962 that belonging to Cambodia, but also the land about 4km quare surrounding it.
Recently, Cambodian Government Officer has,in order satisfy Thai Government, redesigned a new map by which Cambodia territory will lost to Thailand indeed. The new redesigned map has not been adopted from the original of that had been submitted to Lo Er International Court in 1962. This is a great mistake of Government of Cambodia. And on the other hand it is a great lost of territory of Cambodian people.

Hi Cambodian mates, I’ve followed news of Preah Vihea superficially. As far as i go deep into the case of the temple, i sometimes feel unconfortable with Thai government and what some groups of Thais are doing.
Start Action Now!
I myself start boycotting Thai products. Any Thai products that could be substituted by other countries made, i choose not to use them. I know Cambodian market is populated with Thai products, but one can use the products of Cambodia. Or else, products of Malaysia, China, or Vietnam at this moment. Or, insteading of going on holiday to BKK, why not natural Cambodian provinces! or wherever not Thailand, like Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos… Insteading of using Thai airways, or Suvannaphumi airport as transit, why not change to air asia, star asia or KL or Taiwan airport transit… Anyway, it’s just my action, not mean to induce anyone!

Funny. Haha

Khmer ancestors built those stone temples for Khmer children, not for Thai children. Thais already have enough Khmer temples in Thailand and plus Thais are using Khmer vowels, Khmer numerals, Khmer letters right now in Thailand; Thais never give credit to Khmers or mention the word Khmer in Thai history or in Thai culture.
It’s time for Thais to know their Thai root. Thais ancestors were Tai refugees running from the Mongol killing. They were welcome by Khmers to settle in Khmer Empire’s land at the end of the 13th.century.
And with the Khmer military assistance that helped Siam won war over Burma twice.
If Thais don’t want to express Thai gratitude towards Khmers who helped Thai ancestors, please just stop claiming anything that Thais never built, never created belong to Thais.
BTW, I love the picture of the Preah Vihear Temple anniversary.
Thank you for sharing.

Messages to all Thais.
Actually, Thailand should not obstruct the case of Preah Vihear at all. There is NO REASONS. You know damn well that Preah Vihear Temple and the land around it belongs to Cambodia. Dig into the history, comeon you guys know better than that. Whether Cambodia will put Preah Vihear to UNESCO or not it’s our dicision you guys stay away. Thailand stole alot of lands from Cambodia already, can we at least save a little bit of land from you?

Thai people dream to have POL POL regime finish its people off, but Vietnam came to restore back it pupet government in order to split Cambodia’s land a part. The dream of ownership had fail since the cold war end along with former soviet bloc. Le Dec Anh, might be right in 1989’s withdrawal Viet militaries from Cambodia’s soil will bring more hope for another invasion from Thailand in the future.
