CPP is the richest and longest party

Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) is the richest and more mature party than other political parties, which are competing in July 27 National Election. According to the obvious activities during the election campaign, the CPP has spent so much money on promotion materials in comparison with other political parties.

In Phnom Penh capital, you really see the big party Billboards placed at the main streets and the attractive points for voters to be easy to see. By the way, the CPP’s members who participated in campaign utilize luxury cars and more vehicles. While the small and unknown parties just only employed Tuk-tuk, old trucks and motorbikes as well.

While I was riding through traffic light near Olympic Stadium, I saw big video screen installed close to big water basin, playing activities of previous achievements done under the CPP’s ruling. The CPP uses hi-technology more than the poor political parties that are trying to participate in competing with the well-known and big party.

Yes, CPP is always looking good. I am curious to see the new ruling so much. I don’t really like to see the same face people. Just want to know how it will change if the new face comes up.

Hey Vutha,

I have a feeling the CPP is going to win and take full control of the government. Personally, do you think that this is a good or bad thing? Hun Sen plans to rule until he physically can’t anymore. Do Cambodia need a new leader or are the ones we have now, okay enough?

By the way, I was going to fly to Cambodia while I was in China but I ran out of money so i couldn’t do it! I will go to Cambodia one day, maybe next year.

Nhuong

It is no doubt that in any democratic world where a political party is said to be pro-business and is said to have many business people behind them that particular party will have plenty of money to run its own campaign without fear of running of budget.

As in case of the CPP, I do beleived that a Parlimentarian from the party stated that CPP has its own financial coffer, donations by many business people and that is including from many Oknhas and self funding campaign by its member.

Being in politic in Cambodia is very expensive affair and without good financial resources and well-being then not many political party could survive [only 11 parties contesting in this election comparing to 24 on previous election].

If the current PM wishes to run for the top job until his physically can’t then by all means if he can convince his party and people of Cambodia that he is the right person for the job, and this would make him on line with the former PM of Australia “John Howard” who had said the same thing – I’ll run for the job as long as my party want me to and that the people of Australia vote for me”.

Today is the polling day, and my prediction [in order of winner and runner up]:-

1] CPP
2] SRP [would pick up a few more seats - not the 50% as pre-claimed or anticipated by its member]
3] Funcipec [stading to loose more seats of its current. seat of 26]
4] New faces in N/a [certain political party from the minority party such as HRP, NRP and Hang Dara], would pick 1 -2 seats in 4th mandate.

Lord Buddha bless and protect Cambodia and its people.

Happy polling day.

@ Bhoung, hope to see you one day in Cambodia

According to informal result of voting, The CPP have won ranging from 88 to 91 seats, SRP, 26, Human Rights party 3, Norodom Ranariddh, 2, and Funcipec 1. Therefore, the CPP will win majority of seats for formation of new government.

Why does the CPP still get further seats in this election?

Hi Vutha;
After all, my prediction on the election result is right on track [CPP is clear winner, SRP is the runner up, while other minority parties are to be inducted to N/Assembly].

Why CPP get more seats in election?

My personal view:- Grassroot people nation wide voted for CPP based on the actual progresses and developments in their home town unlikely people in the capital city and towns [which is only a small percentage comparing to the entire population of grassroot in rual and urban areas] who voted based on the ideology of certain political party rather than facts and truths. In another word, people at grassroot level are somehow comfortable and happy if they can get what they want which in turn make their life a bit easy if not all the comfort that people in capital city and towns have.

In fact, the CPP expected to win election before the election day. It expected to get further 10 seats plus 73 seats. The preliminary result revealed that the CPP won majority of parliamentary seats and it can form new government on its own.

Most of people in rural areas saw the obvious accomplishments done by the CPP under its government.

The small parties and opposition party are hard to compete with the CPP.
