The priceless temple, Preah Vihear, which really belong to Cambodia and Cambodian people was listed as World Heritage Site on July 07, 2008 by UNESCO in Canada. At the mean time, all Cambodian people in Phnom Penh, including government and non-governmental institutions have celebrated the big victory.
After the inscription of temples as World Heritage Site, there are many rumors and different points of views between Cambodians and Thais such as poison of foodstuffs, boycott against goods from Thailand and transit at Thai airport as well.
Recently, Im Sokthy received SMS from his close friend by saying that:
Dear all, I just got information from Preah Vihear province today, there are four people died by eating fruits from Thailand. Please be careful and keep informed your relatives and friends when they buy fruits. Take care na.
Last week, the retired-King Norodom Sihanouk expressed his reaction that Thai claims to the temple were “absolutely false.†The King said that,
“Mountain and the temple of Preah Vihear are 100 percent Cambodia and belong to Cambodia 100 percent.â€
According to news report, one boy died and other 3 were badly sickened in Preah Vihear province. It was claimed that those ate food and candy poisoning.
