So far, no assailants have been arrested and sent to court by the Cambodia authorities after they committed several crimes against the innocent Cambodian citizens. No doubt that why they are still at large, the injustice in Cambodia society is hurting the innocent Cambodians because of corruption, nepotism, power, money, the culture of impunity, weak court system…etc.

As the result, the victims, the families and relatives of victims are living in the injustice society. Especially, the murderers who shot Cambodia pop stars are still living out of law net. Why? I now just list down some Cambodia actresses shot and attacked by acid in the previous years happening in Phnom Penh.

February 23, 2007: Pov Pahnapich, 23, popular singer and television host, was shot in the heart of Phnom Penh two bullets at close range in the neck and hip. The gunmen, aged mid 20s, shot her from the back of a motorcycle from a distance of around one meter while she had parked her car and was walking to the ELT School near Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy along Norodom Boulevard. She has been treated in Cha Roy hospital in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Until now, no media source report that where she is living. But According to the local magazine released, Cambodian-American people are preparing documents in order to send to live in USA in order to avoid the second shooting.

October 21, 2003: Touch Sunnich (Touch Srey Nich), 24, popular singer and university teacher, was shot into her face and neck by four unknown gunmen while she and her mother got on the car shortly after leaving the flower shop in Phnom Penh. Later, she lost her beloved mother by shooting. At the present, she is living in United States of America under support from Cambodian-American people. She is paralyzed.

December 05, 1999: Tat Marina, 16, karaoke video star, was attacked by more than one liter of nitric acid by a middle-aged woman and her two bodyguards while she was eating rice soup with her 3-year-old niece near Phsar Olympic. Her head, neck, back, chest and wrists were devastated by the flesh-eating acid. Her ears badly ravaged were removed by doctors. The attacker was the wife of senior government official because of relationship of the love triangle. She is treated in USA.

July 06, 1999: Piseth Pelika, Cambodia’s most famous actress and classical Khmer dancer, was shot by unidentified assailants while she was shopping for a bicycle with her 8-year- old niece near O’Russei Market in Phnom Penh. Several days later, Piseth Pilika died on the operating table in Calmette Hospital.
