Elderly man set fiancée a fire

Author: Cambodian-American man, aged 57, doused his fiancée and her sister with 5 liters of gasoline and then set them a fire in Battambang province last week. The man got engagement with Cambodian girl who is 21 years old and later her family broke engagement with him because her family knew that he already got married in the US.
It is because of the engagement breaking, he was angry with her and her family. A man set her a fire when she was washing dishes with her sister at home. According to the local police, he was seriously burned and she will face disability or death. For her sister, she was burned on legs and right side of her body.
In comparison with his age, his age is like her father. I used to read some articles related to Cambodians living abroad and then came to Cambodia to seek Cambodian girls as potential wife. Some of them always deceived the innocent girls or women into using the promise to get married and then taking them to live with abroad. On the contrary, they used the name as overseas citizens to cheat girls or women. It does not mean that all overseas people are bad.
In the last a few months, Cambodian-American man was arrested by police because a man kidnapped his girlfriend under the house arrest in Phnom Penh after he got engaged to her.
It is because that some people who do not know well the background of overseas people are easy to fall into the trap of tricks, especially the people in poor family. Therefore, we should be careful of people who we do not know well about their background or family both in the country and out of country. There are some overseas people who always used their money and name as citizen to trick innocent Cambodian girls and women.

Feeling bad for both the sister - it’s sad day for the family.
What’s wrong with the man?
I think that the man would not commit the brutal act like that, even the engagement was broken by her family. If he is really good man, he should avoid the crime like this. He should respect her valuable time. And she has long way to go for her life and her family.
Oh no, what a hell was this old man doing! Could anger becomes like that in real world?

Since I come to live in Unite state, I used to study about people here, if talk about life style It’s not so much better than our country(Cambodia). Yes, but talk about environment is much better than us.
But the people here have to work for living “NO WORK= HOMELESS” Not much people have time for stay home or go visit another country just only:
1.Vocation (3 or 4 weeks for one year working)
2. Retired, Disability
3. Do something criminal (No way to find job in your whole life , if you do something bad in this country)
4.Credit problem, owed the bank hundred thousand dollar then run away

As I talk above, living here NO TIME for relax as life in Cambodia e.g. my father he’s 60 years old but he retired and staying home do nothing just relax with his grandchild and go to pagoda.
But here my uncle 63 years old, he works like crazy 2 jobs (from 4am and back home 10pm back home) I live with him but never meet him only night time, why he work? because he has to pay for his home, car, insurance and more. AND MOST PEOPLE LIKE THAT
30 years of living here my uncle no time to visit Cambodia
For me Unite state is not paradise like everybody think unless they are rich and come here for study and enjoy life.

you are absolutely right about life in the U S, yes we work eight to ten hours a day, to maintain life style if we don’t keep it up we will loose everything. but one thing I must say is that this country provide people with evrery oportunities, all you do is believe in yourself that you can do it then go out and get it and if you fall get up and do it until you achieve your goal. In my 28 plus years that I live here I seen people who made the right way and enjoy the fruits and people who made it the wrong way and then lost it all, then those who barely get by but live large in cambodia. Yes, I spend alot of money in Cambodia when I visit but that is my vacation and I do not try to show off in cambodia either, not let the folks feel let down or it was their Karma that they did not get to live in the U S A. So in short the people on both shores must watch what they are doing.
