  7. Vutha says:

Hey Chuck, I spotted the brand of Phnom Penh Beer while visiting Cambodian Products Expo. I just knew that this beer just was brewed in December 2008, in Kompong Chhang province. By the way, this beer is produced by Japanese company (Asahi Beer). So far, I did not see this beer to be distributed in restaurants and night club yet. By the way, not so much Cambodian people realize this beer and there is not advertising and promotion campaign on TV and public yet.

If you are more curious about Phnom Penh Beer, you are welcome to visit Phnom Penh Beer via my recommendation and you can taste the fresh beer of Phnom Penh Beer at Brewery. so you can realize the real taste of Phnom Penh Beer and do the comparision of other brand of local beer and imported beer. Thks

  9. I once tried Khmer Beer – saw it at a similar Cambodian Product Expo. It was definitely not affiliated with Asahi (or any other legitimate brewer.) Apparently some guys in the provinces made it. It was fizzy like sparkling wine, and had no colour. Or endearing qualities.
