Sharing knowledge and experiences of blogging
I was invited to present how to create blog at the workshop on “Effective Communication Systems for Organization working for and Children with Disabilitiesâ€, organized by Disability Action Council (DAC) on February 27. The purpose of the workshop is to bring together the communication/ information/ IT-related senior members of staff from organizations working for and with Children with Disabilities in order to identify and improve the mechanism of communication with the disability sector.
They gave me only 30 minutes to present how to create blog. It was because that it was short time and had no internet connection; therefore I could not do what they needed. And then I changed my topic into “Sharing experiences and knowledge of bloggingâ€. In fact, I am not professional blogger but I just only have gone into the world of blog more than 3 years but not spend such times on it. Even though, I have very little knowledge of blogging to be shared with.
There are 40 participants; most of them are NGOs staff and the disabled but they are well educated and have good jobs as well. What I was surprised was that only one of them who created blog and knew how to create blog. Others did not know what the blog is.
I just only presented the introduction of blog by saying that what is blog? What is the advantage of blogging? How can you do if you are the newbie?
So far, there are a lot of new blogs created in the last 4 years. When I started to create blog, I saw not so much blogs owned by Cambodian people. Most of new blogs are created by Cambodians but most of them are not so much active. Some just want to have their own blogs but do not update it regularly. For my opinion, I thought that they always think that they do not know well what the advantage of blogging is. Sometimes, they think that blogging is the waste of time.

Good job Vutha. I am glad to hear that you more and more Cambodians are more interested in blogging.
Cheers
I agree with you that many people think blogging is a waste of times. Sometimes they think it’s useless to spend times sharing photos, writing what you see around you. By the way, almost the ones i encourage to blog here said: “I have no idea of writing” and some said: “My English is too poor to blog”.
For me, i really like to write although my English is not too good enough. It’s not the matter of writing but it’s the matter of whether others understand what i write and that’s all; i’ll keep writing. The fault can be corrected later, no one stands still when the earth still rotates
In fact, the increase in the blogs created in the last few years was noticed. And creating blog is as easy as ABC without having knowledge of IT. It is like me, I am not specialized in IT but I like to use it.
Daravuth, I agreed with you, I always hear about this. Even my friends, when i asked them and help them to create blog and then they said that they did not know how to write article, have no time, waste time as well. for my idea, creating blog is a good tool for sharing thoughts, idea, knowledge and opinions with all of readers and friends. My observation, most of Cambodian people who are well educated do not like to share their knowledge and good experience if they do not earn money from their sharing.
We are not native language, writing articles are not good, even though we have to try to write it what is important is the good meanings. more writing is more improvement.
Vutha you did a great job!!! Hope more people will learn to make their online diary and keep it active
@ Daravuth and Piseth, I just shared my little knowledge and experience with them.
