It is laughable when hearing that Siam demanded Cambodia to change the official name “Preah Vihear†to “Pra Viharn.†Not only Cambodian people have kept it in their mind for long time, but also foreigners did. The military conflict broke out while Preah Vihear temple was recognized as world heritage site last year.
Demanding the changing of Preah Vihear’s name is unreasonable and ashamed as well. It is right that Cambodian government still keep its strong position not following Siam demand. In fact, Siam has no rights to demand to name Khmer heritage.
If the government agrees with Siam’s demand, Cambodia will lose its culture and Preah Vihear temple to hand of Siam in the future. In addition, if the Preah Vihear’s name is changed, the Cambodian next generation will forget their historic name of Preah Vihear, and get confused that Preah Vihear would be Siam heritage as well. Demanding to change the name to Pra Viharn is aimed at take temple from Cambodia in the future. We struggle strongly the change of Preah Vihear’s name, in case the Cambodian government accepts Siam suggestion.

Yes, it is true that the leaders are responsible for the nation and Cambodian people. If leaders made something wrong, their name will be kept in history for next generation. And those leaders should be cursed by God. Hopefully, leaders will still keep their strong position not to bow their heads to Siam thefts.
