Woww, I feel so interesting in new series of Nokia N97, which is a new 3G touch screen Smartphone, circulating within Cambodia Market. Most of people like using Nokia brand of mobile-phone handset. Until now, there are more than 4 million people who are living mobile.
Nokia is the leading brand of mobile phones in Cambodia in terms of market share. Though their low-cost mobile phone range is the most popular on the market, sales have faced a small decline in the wake of the financial crisis, Thai Philippe said, without giving detailed figures.

Yes you are right! I also face this problem! $$$! I’m using Nokia N81 8GB (Bought more than a year at 494$). My wife use Nokia E66 (Bought less than one year at 430$).
All these phones are bad! Slow! Difficult to surf the web difficult to write the text!
I bought iPhone 3G 8GB factory unlocked few month ago, iPhone solve all problem that I have with Nokia. I just update iPhone to OS 3.0 with more than 100 new features, cut/copy/paste, stereo bluetooth A2DP profile supported……..
I can Install many apps to iPhone, such as games, dictionary, IM……. It’s very easy to find the game for iPhone.
Where can you buy reliable factory unlocked i-phone in Phnom Penh ? How much is monthly cost to connect it with internet ?

Sound like you are the expert to this iPhone 3GS. I am wondering if you are one of the retailers in PP? But I learned that using iPhone in Cambodia is damn useless and classy. On the one hand, it is too expensive, compared to that in the US though the customers have to hold contract with the AT&T. On the other hand, using it in Cambodia, we can’t access to some applications like using in the States.
So is it good to own one iPhone in Cambodia? Or can you give me your contacts, i.e so that we can discuss further points.

I appreciate your question. In fact I’m not a phone retailer, I’m a normal user. I just feel interesting in cellphone technology. For me the most interesting phone is iPhone.
Using iPhone in Cambodia is the same other country I do not see any difference, of course there is no application store in Cambodia, but we can use crack applications until Apple offer application store in Cambodia, but I do not encourage to use illegal iPhone Application unless no choice. There are plenty of Crack Applications online.
We can use iPhone to surf the web, sent/receive email, listen to music, watch video, play great game like EA Need for Speed, Tiger PGA tour (golf), SIM 3, Solitaire City deluxe,
Check the dictionary such as COED&T speaks dictionary. I think we can use almost all iPhone applications in Cambodia. We can use MMS here, but AT&T iPhone users in the US still cannot use MMS.
Related to the price in Cambodia: Factory unlocked iPhone 3GS 16GB/32GB = 880$US/970$US, software unlocked iPhone 3GS 16GB/32GB around 770$US/870$US, in Hong Kong Factory unlocked iPhone 3GS 16GB/32GB = 695$US/812$US.
iPhone 3GS 32GB = iPod Touch 32GB + phone = 412$ + 450$ = 860$, why don’t we just buy an iPhone 3GS 32GB at 970$? It easy to carry than iPod Touch + phone!
If you have friend in Hong Kong just ask him to order iPhone for you at cheaper price 812$US for 32GB. For me I already ask friend in HK to buy 32GB, expect to arrive on 5TH August 2009.

Of course in the state is cheaper at 199$/299$, but with two year contract you have to spend around 1800$.
iPhone is better than Nokia. I had used Nokia Nseries since long long ago! Now I’m still using Nokia and another iPhone 3G, however my future phone are all Apple iPhone. I’m waiting iPhone 3GS arrive Cambodia with reasonable price (Less than 800$)
I hate Nokia that does not support Khmer to s60 operation system. Nokia look down us! Nokia only supports Khmer to low cost phone! Regretfully!
