Chinese-made phones grab market share in Cambodia
So far, there are more than 4 million mobile phone users, and 9 phone service providers competing. There are a few popular brands of cell phone circulating in Cambodia’s phone market such as Nokia, Samsong, Sony Ericssion. Last a few years, mobile telephone made Chinese attracts its customers because it is cheaper than other phone brands.
Chinese mobile telephone price is ranging from $30 to $200, it also has been making noticeable inroads into the market for the last two years. In addition, many Chinese phone now come fitted with Internet capabilities, television services and perhaps most importantly, space for two SIM cards.
Presently, the success of Chinese-made handsets in the market could put competitive pressure on the market share held by names like Samsung, Nokia and Sony Ericssion.
