I always received comments and emails from blog readers and friends who asked me about the process of using Paypal in Cambodia. Why did they ask me? Because they find that I am using Paypay to get paid from advertisers. In fact that I use my sister’s Paypal account in USA because she can withdraw money from Paypal.
Can we create Paypal account? It is true that we can create our own Paypal account. As you know, Paypal is the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. By the way, the service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information.
After creating Paypal account whether we can withdraw money from it or not in Cambodia, as I know, the system of transferring money between Paypal company and private banks in Cambodia is not available. When you signed up Paypal account, you can get paid from other senders and advertisers and you can use your money in Paypal to buy products and to pay something online. In order to use your money to buy something online, you are required to get verified with the Paypal Plus Credit Card. If not verify, you will not be able to use your money.
That is the experience of friend of mine who created Paypal account to get paid from advertiser on his blog. In order to use money in his account, firstly he verified his visa card created in Cambodia. And then he can use his money to pay his domain names accepted by Godady. And I asked him whether there are other ways to withdraw money in Cambodia, he said that no way to withdraw it in Cambodia’s banks.
That is the information that I know about the usage of Paypal in Cambodia. It is because I cannot withdraw money with Banks in Cambodia, I use my sister’s Papal in USA. In case, someone has experiences in using Paypal in Cambodia, please sharing this with all of us in Cambodia.

Not necessarily true. Here is how you can withdraw your PayPal credit in Cambodia. First, create a business account by asking a family member/business partner that reside in USA, France, etc. After 60 days usage (or 90 days, I forgot), apply for PayPal Debit Card. It will be mailed to your registered user. Have him/her or a trusted person bring the card over as they visit Cambodia. You can use the card in Cambodia in all banks that accepts a MasterCard. There is a small fee associated with withdrawals, but that is standard anywhere. Good luck! PDP

I haven’t used paypal so far, but I have paypal account which I created recently (Cambodian Paypal Account). I don’t see how you can get paid by your advertisers when there is no option in Cambodian paypal account to receive payment.
Cambodian paypal account can be used to do shopping only. What I mean is, you fund or load your paypal balance from your bank or credit cards which you attached to the paypal account.
For example, if you want to buy items from ebay… let’s say 100$, so you just attached your credit card (Cambodian Creidt Card which can be used internationally) and then add the amount to your paypal balance.
I am sure that your account has be verified first before you can use it properly and will be accepted by mostly international shopping sites.
Anyway, that’s my opinion and little knowledge on this paypal issue. Somehow, I prefer check for the affiliates marketing.

@ Dragon, in fact, I also created paypal in Cambodia but i know that it is not available with Cambodian banks. Therefore, I told my sister living in USA to create paypal account for me. It means my paypal was created in USA and verified visa card by my sister and she can withdraw money for me instead.
i am a big fan in using paypal and yah, Cambodian cant accept payment but sending out. It’s so bad, however i could get paid by paypal and withdraw those money in lots of way to Cambodia pretty easy.

For all the Cambodian webmaster and blogger, its really sad that paypal not allow to receive and withdraw money in Cambodia.. All the internet marketing seem to be a long road for Cambodian.

@PDP : thanks mate, I think it’s a good method, an easier option at this time, but my question is: How much would ANZ or SBC or any other bank charge you when u using a foreign card (PayPal Debit Card) to withdraw money from their ATM machine? Do you have any idea?
Cause I’m trying to get money transferred to me in Cambodia from other country, would PayPal be a good choice?
