Service fee for taxi and bus doubles

It is notice that during the big festivals such as Khmer New Year and P’Chum Ben, most of Cambodians living in Phnom Penh always flood to countryside to meet their families and relatives. Therefore, the demand for taxi and bus service is higher than the normal day causing its price to increase doubles.

During this occasion, traveling service of taxi and bus takes opportunities to increase the price because they think that most of people really need to travel to see their families and relatives.

As I remembered in last few years, I wanted to visit my parents but I had difficulty to find buses or taxi to take because it was full of travelers. Sometimes, they booked a few days in advance. This year, I do not know what is going on because I have not gone anywhere; I just stayed at home to take after my daughter who was born a few days before the celebration of New Year.

Yesterday evening, I bought bus ticket for my mother at Sorya Bus Company worth 33,000 riel from Phnom Penh to Snoul district, Kratie province. Normal day, its price is only 20,000 riel.
