Khmer News- Cambodian economy
While internet disconnected many time less than one hour, and is running slowly, no one is happy with it. Sometime they are bored of it and shut down computer and walk away. Now I feel so bored with Metfone’s internet connectivity and its speed because it always disconnected so often and its speed is very slow as well.
First, getting using it, its speed is not so fast but it is available for me to access internet at home, if compared with Internet café’s speed, it is better than it a little bit.
I used to complaint its bad service, while my internet connectivity was disconnected and I took a few days to wait for service person to fix my internet.
Do you have problem with it or not? A number of Cambodians are discussing about the worst internet connectivity of Metfone because its speed is getting worst. And they are hoping that they will find other company that provides better internet and service than Metfone

I use Metfone too, but it seem no problem for me ! but some time it was disconnect also ! It was about 10 or 15mn and then it’s connect normally ! For speed, I think it’s slower than b4 !
Our folks at Cambopedia are alright with the unlimited Internet plan with Metfone for months. Hopefully, it’s keeping up without such headache.
I’m using excel internet via phone and it seems ok though sometime slow. you can try to compare the price and speed

@ Kimlong, it is slower than before, sometimes i felt crazy with its slow speed. I think that it is because there are a lot of internet users.

@ Piseth, how much u pay for it per month? as i know before its speed is very slow because it is only 64M, right?
@ Sideth, i had some problems last few days. when staff from Metfone called me and asked me about internet and then i told him that i have problem with it. He said that company is testing new prefix-088 therefore, there are some problem with internet connectivity. he added that it will be better soon.
Haha you are lucky than me! You know I got the Metfone GPRS running about a week last year and few days later it suddenly freeze while waiting for a very important webpage to come out. I called them more than 50 times for few weeks and the final word was “whenever it works it will work”. I got this words from Metfone office, guess what? They said they will call me to follow the case but it is about 6 months today I never receive a call from Metfone.
Metfone are part of Viettel – which is of course a Viet company (Yuon). I am not surprise by their low quality. You better off staying far away from them. Help support Khmer ISP or other well established foreign ones. Cheers!
@vutha, I load $15 phone card from excel and use it for 2 months now. I online most of the time in the evening a few hours and @ weekend day time. I don’t know much they charge per hour rate though but good to try. I got my CDMA at 15bucks with a $10 free credit.
@Tomie, i guess there is no Cambodian ISP exist in this world because all the product that ISP Cambodia sell are bought from the neighboring countries like Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong…etc.

yes, they are suck . i paid $55 dollars a month to upgrade from 64kbps to 128kbps , but seems worst.. wat a waste of money..
