Field rat meat is kind of dish in Cambodia

Rat is the kind of rodent that always damage stuff and property in house and people always hate and try to kill them but the kind of wild or field rat meat is becoming food for people in rural areas. By the way, rat meat has been sold in the market. Do you like to eat field rat meat? Do not ask me about that. I feel nauseous when I saw its meat. By the way, I do not dare to kill it as well.

Recently, I met my wife’s uncle who used to live in Poil Pot and he told me that there are sales of rat meat in Poil Pot but not all field rats. Some rats were caught from the market, it means that rats live and eat rubbishes at market stalls.

People families living over there caught them in market and mixed with field rats in order to sell on the market. At that time, buyers always thought that all rat meats are the kind of field rats that just eat only small insects and plants as foods. In fact, it is the kind of rat living in market or house.
