New theatrical play “Daddy’s Fatherland”

Former student of Royal University of Fine Arts, Im Kim Sour, whose Japanese name is Midori, formed new comedy troupe “Nouveau Comedy Theatre”. She produced new play “Daddy’s Fatherland”
“I created this group (Nouveau Comedy Theatre) as I saw that theatrical plays, especially Khmer traditional speaking dramas, have almost disappeared. Most students of theatre find it difficult to get a full-time job,” she is quoted by the Post as saying that.
The new play will be being premiered on February 18 until March 13, 2011 and play every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 Royal University of Phnom Pen (near Phnom Penh Airport.
Who is Im Kim Sour? She was a former student of traditional dance and Bassac theatre at the Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh. In 1973, she was awarded a Chinese Scholarship to continue to study in China. And then she lived in France. Later, she married Japanese husband and live in Japan. in 2002, she returned to live in Cambodia.
