Cambodia’s National Police Commissioner Hok Lundy was killed in Helicopter crash at around 8:00 mp in evening Sunday in Svay Reing province en route to Bavet town, along as with Deputy Commander of Army, Sok Sa Em and other two pilots, local media reported.

Hok Lundy is the most powerful figure in the Cambodian People’s Party and is listed as the 20^th most senior official with the party and the party’s standing committee. He is in charge of the post of National Police Commissioner more than 14 years after being appointed in 1994.

Hon Lundy’s power is getting stronger and stronger after his daughter got married to Prime Minister Hun Sen’s son in January 2002. And he is the key in strengthening Prime Minister Hun Sen’s hold over the country’s security apparatus.

On the morning’s celebrations of the 55^th anniversary of Cambodia’s independence from France, Hon Lundy joined the Independence Day and he met with the helicopter crash in the evening at the same day in Svay Rieng province.

He provided big funds to construct Svay Rieng University in Svay Rieng province, where is for providing Cambodian youths to easily access the high education and he has a big villa in Bavet as well.

In this morning, I became the victim of traffic light violator in Phnom Penh while I was in car with my friend who is the driver. After we had breakfast and then went to meet one friend of mine at Apasara Television station. And then we approached traffic light at the intersection of the Paster Street off Beoung Keng Kong market.

Car was moving forward slowly and reached the traffic light while the light is still blue and its blue number was down until number 2, it means that it is the signal to show all drivers to be careful and to slow down its speed because the blue light will shift into the red light.

My friend’s car arrived while the blue light was showing number 2, and then I told him that “hey friend, you have to slow down your car” but he sped up. When approaching in the middle of street, the blue light turned into red. I took at on the right and the left through the car’s window, seeing motorbikes’ and cars’ drivers glancing at me and car.

At that time, I felt ashamed about myself because of breaking the traffic light law. I was the victim of traffic violator. I really know that those passengers really blamed me and my friend on violating the traffic light like that. I then told my friend that now we infringed traffic law.

In order to reduce road accident, and traffic jam, we ourselves have to respect the traffic light, traffic signs, and law and the passengers have to respect and understand their driving. Some people still break the traffic law, even though they know the law. It is hard to educate the people who know but still break the law.
