Lunch at Cup Café restaurant- Phnom Penh

Last Saturday, I and other two friends- Virak, Nearirath- went to have lunch at the new place because sometimes we are boring of eating the same place. Cup Café restaurant is the new place we had lunch together and I thought we could access wireless internet. Unfortunately, we could not access wifi internet but there are two CPs placed on the wall with internet connection with free of charge.

Normally, I rarely have stayed at home the whole day over the weekend because I have no internet access. Therefore, I always find the places with free wifi internet at Coffe Shop, not internet café. Because it is the comfortable place equipped with air-conditioner, internet access. By the way, it is easy to meet some friends as well. But the price of foods, fruit juice, coffee… is more expensive.

Café shop: Corner33

I right now stay at café shop (Corner33), where is the new place I found. I am here with other three people, Tharum, Virak and Nearirath after leaving T&N café where we frequently used to go there. Inside the café lounge equipped with comfortable atmosphere for business or simply to relax and enjoy. That is great that no cigarette smoke is flying in the lounge.

Corner33 is offering some special features including internet station for visitors without laptop and WiFi convenience. This place is not so much Cambodian people coming here, most of them are foreigners.

What is great for me is the place where I can surf free WiFi internet. It is located near National Museum. The café shops where I used to go are T&N Café along Monivong Blvd, Sentement Café across BS mail and inside Sovanna Mall and Dao Café.

Celebration of Preah Vihear listed as Work Heritage Site

Yesterday, I joined with all government civil servants, led by Dr.Sorn Samnang President of Royal Academy of Cambodia; celebrating Preah Vihear Temple inscribed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO on July 07, 2008. I am former student from this school and nowadays working there as well. Besides working for government, I am working with non-governmental organization.

We are so proud of being born in Cambodia. And we are very pleased by listing priceless temple as World Heritage Site.

My favorite phone stolen

Nokia N93Hoping that the lucky day will be bringing to me instead of the unlucky day. My favorite mobile phone, Nokia N93, was stolen yesterday night at around 3 am while I was well sleeping in my room. Approximately at 4 or 4:30 am, I woke up and then I wanted to turn off air-conditioner because it was so cold. Oh my God, I did not see my phone connected with earphone near me but I saw only earphone left.

Suddenly, I felt so afraid, and looked at the window; a piece of curtain was put together into the hole of the metal window and glass window opened. I thought that thief stole my phone already. It was because of my carelessness, it was that I forgot to lock the glass window, I just closed it.

Normally, it is not easy to take it away through window because it is high to reach it. Thieves used stuffs or stair to lean against wall to climb up and utilizing long-bamboo stick to take it. I saw long stick left outside my house. And I saw the finger-prints on the metal window as well.

At the daytime at around 3 pm, one teenager approached my sister and asked her about the rented house and then she told him that “no rented house here”. And he tried to move forward to my sister who was boiling water at the back of house. Suddenly, two other teenagers run quickly toward my sister. Fortunately, she closed and locked the door on time. She felt very and very afraid until she forgot to tell my brother sitting into the hours to help her.

Those wanted to rob my sister’s necklace around her neck. The robberies and burglaries always have happened off my buildings’ block such as grabbing neighbor’s necklace, telephone and house-breaking.

My phone was used more than one year after being bought. I now lost all of contact numbers (my friend’s numbers) saved in phone. My phone was really important for me, besides calling, to utilize its camera to catch pictures for my blog, while I had not digital camera coming with. That is the first time, I lost phone. Normally, I always took care of it. I rarely talked on phone while I was driving; I always stopped motorbike and then answering it because I am so afraid of robber to grab.
