Three songs banned on playing public

Three songs were banned from playing in public

I used to listen to all above three song titles sung by women but I clearly did not remember all its meanings, as I remembered its meanings are describing over the women loving the married man. The title of three songs “Love Another’s Husband”; “May I have a Piece of Your Heart Too”; “If I can’t be First Can I be Second”. All three have been banned from broadcasting in public.

All three songs have been prohibited from playing in the public after Prime minister’s wife called on the authorities of Phnom Penh along with all municipal and provincial authorities to review all night entertainment clubs, which she said that they have been affecting security and social order as well as national culture and customs.

On January 31, premier’s wife also appealed to reviewing the clothes worn by the singers performing on the scene because those singers have worn too revealing clothes.

People still play the songs in private at their home. The government did not order to confiscate them from the markets but not performing in the public.

Deliciously burned chicken

These photos reminded me of the place while I went to Svay Rieng province last year. Right now, I just want to share with you this information, not advertising. I ate the deliciously-burned chicken one time at family-run restaurant in the town’s edge. That is the small family-run business but providing good service. When I arrived, there are only two beds, one is under the shade of bamboo and other one is located behind the zinc-roofed house. If you need the chicken you just only order by calling in advance.

Lunch at Dao Coffee Shop

Dao Coffee is the restaurant where I came the first time to have lunch with Virak, I never know it before. And this is the third time that Virak came.  At the present time, there are some Coffee shops equipped with wireless in Phnom Penh. While I arrived at Dao Coffee I saw the notice hung on the front door by reading that “providing free internet access here.” This restaurant has been open from 7am to 9pm, by serving Khmer foods all the time.

Milk coffee

It was because I had lunch at home already, I have to drink a cup of milk coffee that costs $1 per cup.

Farewell Party

At the end of the old year, my workplace organized farewell party for three staffs who are going to leave their work and will resume their new work at the beginning of New Year and plus celebrating New Year 2008 too. Party was arranged at Apsara restaurant where was the first time I went there. It is the buffet restaurant. We had BBQ there by paying only $4 per person with a can of soft drink. If you need to drink beer you have to pay. By the way, Karaoke service is free for guests to sing songs.
