A recent survey released by a popular dating site has stunningly revealed that gender stereotyping has got absolutely nothing on the attitude women have toward the Super Bowl. Contrary to what you may think, it turns out that women actually like pro football. When asked whether they would enjoy being taken on a trip to Indy for the event, a staggering 91 per cent of over one thousand women polled said they would prefer this to not going. Even more interestingly, 66 per cent of females also said they will tune into the event themselves – and not for the ads, but for the game! As such, if you’re dateless for this year’s event, you might just meet someone you like at the game per se. Here are some tips to bear in mind when figuring out how to go about chatting a sporty gal – and remember to check out ArtofCharm.com for more clever dating tips and tricks.
- Get a feel for their favorite. While rooting for opposing teams does not have to be a deal breaker, knowing which team a woman you like is into will show her that you care about her preferences and opinions. You don’t have to be on the same side of the fence to enjoy a spirited conversation about the game and anything else that might lead to.
- Don’t go dissing on Brady. Quarterback Tom Brady seems to be a definite favorite with the ladies. That’s not to say they’re all huge fans of his, nor that you have to memorize his stats in order to impress a woman. Do bear in mind, though, that many women are vying for him: 68 per cent of the women polled by the aforementioned dating site feel he is the sexiest player on field, a close second to Eli Manning (61 per cent). 55 per cent also feel he’s got what it takes to hit the fourth ring, in spite of his recent injuries.
- Don’t overwhelm. Yes, we know some of you are all about stats, facts, and figures. We know you’re highly likely to take part in a pool (for that matter, so are 34 per cent of women, according to their own admission). However, overwhelming a fellow game watcher with your opinions, your prodigious memory, and whom you think is going to win the game will get you nowhere. Enjoy a drink or two, have fun, and support your favorite team. But remember to also listen – after all, your goal is scoring just as successfully as the boys out in the playing field, isn’t it?
